How do preservatives work?
I've been doing research online on how preservatives are 'harmful' to the body, but I haven't really found an answer. I've come across the typical answers on why it's bad, but not the chemistry behind it. Is the reaction between foods and the additive cause harm to the body? Does this have to do with the structure of the additive reacting with our body? Or the food itself?
