Looking for a pair of over ear headphones with a budget of $150

My friend is thinking of buying a set of nice headphones for her brother for Christmas, and she has NO idea about what to get him. She said she has a budget of around $150, and wants something with "good bass". Her brother's a bit of an audiophile, and I'm pretty sure he'd want something with noticeable bass (for electronic and dubstep) that doesn't drown out everything else.

I'm sure name brand doesn't matter, and after a bit of googling I found the Sony MDR-XB700, but I heard they were fairly clunky. I was wondering if there were any other alternatives?

I also posted in r/audiophiles and was told that the ath-m50 and the Klipsch Image One's are pretty good
