Undergraduate Proseminar Class: I am writing a paper on the Gulf of Tonkin Incident and am looking to see if this makes sense.

Basically I am arguing that the United States Government was successful in presenting to the public and the world the Gulf of Tonkin incident in a dramatic manner that brought immediate support for the war and for the gulf of tonkin resolution which allowed for the use of as "much force was deemed necessary" in order to stem the flow of communism in Southeast Asia.

Really vague, I know. I'm not asking you guys to help write the essay. I just want to make sure I'm thinking in the right direction.

Some background: 12-15 pages long. Primary sources mainly. Some secondary sources needed.

Any input, suggestions, or help at all would be great! Also if anyone is willing to edit/read the essay upon completion that would be awesome.
