Ecobee sensors - increased energy?

Hi, I just instealled an ecobee 3 lite. I see that there are sensors which helps averaging out the temperature. I have a room that is relatively hot in summer than the rest of the house (due to sun light and windows etc.). If I put the sensor in this room, wouldn't other rooms be much cooler and thereby increasing the energy usage?
