Am I allergic to surgical steel or not?
I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR THE LONG POST…I got 3 holes pierced in the top of my ear with a gun all at once. After a few weeks the earrings were embedded into my skin, I went back and they took them out and gave me my money back and they told me I was allergic to surgical steel and that’s why it failed. After doing my own research I see it was the gun. No scars or bumps or lumps where it happened.
Anyway, I also had my nipples pierced and they never fully healed after a year and I just took them out and gave up, I had surgical steel jewelry in at the time but didn’t correlate the two. I’ve had my gums pierced with no issues.
Is it possible I’m actually allergic to surgical steel or have I just had bad luck, I don’t break out in hives or get rashes. I do however get green skin from some NOT ALL fake jewelry.
I’m looking to get my ears pierced again, my nose and im scared for it to fail or for me to get bad scarring.
Should I get 14k gold, titanium or try surgical steel ?
