Potty trained except poops, I'll take any and all tips and input to help!
I think we have made some progress since starting, LO (21m) now comes to us or toward/near potty to poop but them drops a log where she's standing. This is a step up from how she started: either going outside to do it or hiding in our bedroom then coming to tell me after the fact. She is always worried and upset about it. She's currently a standing pooper, I think this is part of the problem? Would rather stand to poop than sit?
We are 8 days in to Oh Crap method and pees are at 100% in potty aside from maybe one or two misses a day, if that. We are currently going commando and able to leave the house and use facilities out of the house. 50% if the time she tells me she needs to pee and may even self initiate, 50% I have to prompt.
Poops, she has talked about them a few times, mentioning she has tooted and needs to poop, but then will not if we try to potty. She will not poop in public (I feel this is fair). She always tells me immediately after and will come find me to let me know and say, clean clean clean. She knows she doesn't get to flush it if it's not in a potty. She will tell you poop goes in the toilet, poop goes in the potty. She has been my poop and any bathroom activity buddy from the get-go so she shouldn't have any negative association from that. She poops twice a day, so far it doesn't fall at similar times besides definitely once in the morning and usually once in the evening but sometimes it's late afternoon (lol so any time of day). We have potties all over the house and I bring one with me if we go to a room or area far from or without a potty, so always near.
The biggest issue seems to be that instead of communicating before like a pee, she freezes, goes quiet, and sort of braces herself standing up waiting for the log to drop. I've only gotten to see it recently since she isn't hiding anymore the last 2 days.
Prior to potty training we were part time EC, she had a few times a day she would pee but no poop. She exclusively pooped in the potty from the time we started EC when she could sit up, to 13m when she suddenly began refusing and also solids made poops ramp up, happen at all times of the day, and have different consistencies.
Do I just wait because it seems like she understands to get it on the potty but it's slow to happen or is there something I can do to expedite the process and increase her efficacy and communication?
