How much would it cost to add a waterline to a fridge?

Question

Recently bought a new fridge that comes with a ice dispenser. My old fridge didn't have any features so previous home owners never added a waterline. Anyone got any estimates to how much it would cost a plumber to add one to my fridge? I live in the fairfax area if that matters

It’s not that bad of a DIY believe it or not depending how far you are from a sink. I’ve done it for the price of parts, under $20.

I can’t imagine it being more than a couple hundred bucks to have a pro come out and do it.

I had MaycoĀ AndradeĀ Plumbing do it for me at the beginning of 2022 for about $500. Whether or not that's too much I dunno, but my fridge wasn't right next to me sink and was maybe 12-15ft away.

I have always struggled with DIY projects ngl, I rather just spend a bit more to have a professional do it

Not bad if its only a couple hundred

If your fridge is next to the sink, it's trivially easy and cheap. If your fridge is on the other side of the kitchen, the kitchen isn't over a basement, and there's no protected path between a water source and the fridge, you could be looking at many thousands of dollars.

We ran ours for about 10 feet, through cabinets, for the price of the tubing. It's super easy if you have a drill and you buy the tube at Home Depot.
