[Build Ready] $1500 - $1700 for Virtualising Servers for school, and gaming.

hey guys, Im going to be mainly using this PC for virtualising a bunch(2-6) of Windows Server 2008 machines for school I'd like to do so whilst running office, winamp, chrome. I'd definitely be gaming on it, but if it can't handle all those process at the same time as well as gaming I wouldn't be too fussed as it would probably make me more productive.

I think I've got an idea that It is an alright set up, but I am slightly concerned about my choices on PSU, Cpu Cooler(which I picked at random), and Case(which I would like another recomendation on because two of my friends have the same one), and whether or not I could make better choices

and wondering whether it is worth me going with the i7 3770k and worth going with the Gigabyte 7950 seeing as my budget is 2000 for both a Decent PC and a Shitty laptop for watching films and TV shows in bed.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions or criticism

The i7-3820 is better than the 3770k and cheaper, it requires you get a lga 2011 mobo w/ x79 chipset which cost more but also is better. Overall switching to the i7-3820 and compatible mobo is slightly cheaper more powerful and has better upgrade path. I got less ram for cheaper because 16gb should be plenty and got 4x4 because x79 mobo has quad channel ram. The video card is complete overkill could go cheaper depends on needs and how many screens you have. The case is cheap looks nice and is quiet mostly good reviews.

Yeah I might stick with the 7950 as it is half the price of the GTX 680, But the i7 3820 and asrock extreme3 is a little cheaper and has what I want. Might go with the cheaper case too, seeing as i just went with the antec one cause I knew it was alright, this seems to do the job too.

So my choice on the CPU cooler was alright ?

The Hyper 212 is the cheapest compatible CPU cooler for lga 2011, it is also one of the most popular in r/buildapc. The case has sound dampening material and isn't all flashy plus it is cheaper, everyone has their own tastes and goals for their PC. You will get better cooling and cable management with the Antec case but it is louder and in my opinion ugly. Lots of cases out there that are good just don't go too cheap or too expensive the sweet spot is probably between $50-130 just read reviews and decide what you want.
