I want to know more about Shia Islam.

Question / Help

I'm a revert and have been for several years now, since i turned 16 (almost 20 now.) All of my resources about Islam have almost exclusively been about Sunni Islam, and ive been growing really curious about Shias because there are some aspects of Shiism that I really admire. It always appears like Shia have much more spirituality (for lack of a better word.)I, would like to know more about Shia islam, but I also have some concerns that i would like addressed.

  1. Islam says we are all equal, an arab is not superior to a non-arab , so on and so forth. Sometimes the extra emphasis on Ahlulbayt makes it feel as if we are all not..?
  2. Only a few countries of the Islamic world are shia,, making it a little offputting because of fears of non-acceptance if I accept Shia islam. It feels like an ethno-religion, are Shia muslims welcoming to that sort of a thing?
