Does anyone shave with a straight razor?
I know many prefer a safety razor to reduce bumps and irritation since it has less tug than the 4 blades in the skin but does anyone shave with a straight razor at all? Just go all Sweeney Todd? I love vintage and old things so if anyone has a good experience I want to get one but if it's not worth it I don't want to waste my money. :)

I have used a "shavette", a straight razor that uses a disposable blade. A decent shavette can be had for around $25, and replacement blades are cheap. Of course the sky's the limit if you more interested in the craftmanship of the razor. Bad results are certainly possible with a straight razor, things like razor burn and nicks. IMO many people have an irrational fear of straight razors, but all of my nicks are minor and healed up quickly. However I don't think the shave is superior to other razors. The only real advantage of a straight razor is that it can shave longer hair without getting clogged. However, if you can make shaving something you enjoy rather than simply a chore, it's worth it.
That's kinda what I'm trying to do until I can get removal. Also just trying to be less wasteful in general.
