When moving interstate, is it better to bring your car and do rego again or just buy one at the other state

Pretty much as title says, especially for moving to VIC which seems to be slightly more expensive to buy cars. I know some people who brought their own car over, but there also seems to be plenty of people who sells their car when they move. I'd like to know what do you guys think about this.
