Awesome experience with shopper

Had an awesome experience with a shopper today. I tipped my normal 20% on my typical 10-15 items then raised it, the items do vary but I never order more than 10-15 items via delivery services, and he was finished shopping within 10 mins and on his way within 10 mins and I had my order within 30 mins of ordering (store is about 5 miles away). And yeah, I’ve had him shop before for me several times before and I was so happy to see him as my shopper today.

Lately before him, I’ve been getting slow, non responsive shoppers despite my high tip ($25+) of the same 10-15 items, that takes them at least an hour or more to shop for. Not to mention they are constantly substituting items for other things that aren’t even close for example a 12 pk Dr pepper for a 12 pk Mountain Dew lol. No way I’ll drink Mountain Dew! Cucumber for squash and stuff like that. After they complete my shop, they take another hour to deliver, I assume they are shopping multiple orders even after I ask for priority. I also suspect multiapping.

Yes, my notes state if no 12 pk Dr Pepper either replace with the 6 pk bottles or refund, but they don’t seem to read. I’ve only started having these issues the last year. All 2022 was awesome and I got all my orders correct without issues at all. Did start recently do a mass hiring or something with a bonus or something because it seems these folks don’t really care?

Apologize for typos and errors. I don’t post much at all and my tablet is so slow to keep up.

To be honest, I get it. Unfortunately it’s a stereo type that exists for a reason here for sure,

My female to male shoppers in quality is not close.

But I obviously always give males an equal shot but some of the subs are so good

Funny. Come to think of it, the majority of folks I see looking lost or running around shopping frozen first, are dudes.

I see a lot more women who seem like they're fully business.

I let my customers know that I’m an experienced cook and gardener. When replacements are needed, I can often see what recipes they have in mind. I’ve had many customers relate to me what they wanted to cook. So they know that the replacements that I run by them for approval are well thought out. 😁

Sorry that you’ve had so many terrible shoppers, and glad that you finally got a good one!

The only thing I want to note (as a shopper) is this: in a multi-order batch, Instacart chooses which customer gets their delivery first. As a shopper, you have to deliver to whoever they mark as Customer A before you even get the address for Customer B. The shopper does NOT have the option to prioritize one person’s order over another (unless they’re multi-apping, which is against the rules)! As a shopper, it really sucks because I sometimes have a problem with one order in a batch (like a customer asking for a dozen last minute substitutions) and it delays the other customers’ orders. It stinks that well-tipping, responsive customers sometimes get their orders late because Instacart demands that I deliver to the rude no tip customer first.

What state are you in??

This!

I had a customer today whose delivery today resembles everything you wrote including the Dr pepper. Would be funny if this was for me 😍

That would be awesome!

Nice job today even if it wasn't. ;)

Just a comment on the note you have, if you arent sending it in the chat when the shopper begins shopping then we dont see it until after we check out and when we start delivering the items. Hope this info helps in the future!

You can see the notes. All you do is check the batch details it’s all there. You should be checking up before you start an order.

Shoppers need to check batch details before starting a shop!

It's really inexcusable not to - I mean, it's in YOUR BEST INTEREST to look before you shop.
