I can already hear management asking why the sales were down 12k vs last year

you best believe I am keeping this pics for that occasion. Also for inevitable "why do you have so many holes" I'm sure to hear from our executive visitors on Thursday lol

Wait I don’t get it. Wouldn’t this increase sales?

One day when I was at work I came back in from gathering carts, and the cashier called me over and told me that someone spent $1000 in food stamps. The woman and her husband was standing right there, they must have been embarrassed from him saying that

Might be division specific but in my store we aren't supposed to sell >10k to 1 person in 1 day to avoid CTR requirements. I doubt that will come up or matter but came to mind when I saw the number "12k" since that wouldn't be allowed at my store.

That is for money orders, money transfers, and maybe gift cards.

You still have to fill it out if groceries are over 10k, not just for those that you listed.

Soft_Question7529OP•

the front desk did actually have to fill out the over 10k form, which they said was the 1st time they'd ever done it for groceries lol

If management was good, they would deny the sale and ask the customer what specifically they were looking for so they could order it in. That way the shelves would remain full and other customers would not get upset because someone cleaned the shelves.

It's tough to deny 12k but someone needs to step up and think proactively.

Did anyone ask why he chose this day to spend 12k on groceries? I'm more curious about that 😂

I’m in PNW and we’re close to where the big fishing boats are. Man when they come in we have one lane closed to start ringing them through as they grab cart after cart. This was a few years ago I’m on nights now. I wonder if they do more pickup now.
