...is the company World Financial Group?
If so, run!
Broker? Company side?
No, it is not normal. That being said, if you’re with a reputable company, they may reimburse you.
Broker .
Is there a deal that if you pass, they’ll reimburse? You need to pass your level 1 exam to be a broker and there are courses to help pass.
That may be it . My wife is going for the job , asking me for a big chunk of money. So im always a bit skeptical. Maybe for nought. But….
As long as it is a reputable broker, she’s probably fine and will be reimbursed.
My old roommate’s training through MRU was covered by the company that hired her.

When must employees be paid for training? An employer cannot legally require an employee to take training without pay. If training is required to give an employee skills for their role, the employer is legally obligated to pay for this time. For example, this could be job shadowing on the first day of employment or training on new equipment four years into the position. In these scenarios, employers must offer minimum wage, overtime pay and rest entitlements in accordance with the ESC.
What about for course content. She is getting paid for her time , but they want money for course , company says she will get it back in 4 days .
This sounds like a scam. Run far away.
It’s not. It’s a certification required to be a broker
Is it company required training, or like an IBAA continuing education course that you’ve decided to take? Cause if it’s the latter I wouldn’t say it’s uncommon since you’re a new hire.
