I am looking at becoming a wedding planner and need help...

Hi everyone!

I'm new here! Nice to meet you all. I was wondering if any professional wedding planners or events management people could give me some advice.

I really want to get into the industry and I'm not entirely sure where to start with education.

A little about me, is I am a professional Costume Designer and have degrees in Fashion, Costume and Millinery. Unfortunately, where I am based, there isn't a lot of paid opportunities in costume and it's mostly volunteer. I very much love making ideas and thoughts become a reality and have now havr considered moving into Wedding Planning or Events Management for Theatres as a career path.

Would anyone here have any advice to give on where I should start or what kind of course I should study or area's to start in with no experience in wedding planning? I am considering a Diploma in Events Management but not sure if this is a waste of time or if I should be looking specifically at a wedding planner course. Any help would be muchly appreciated and sorry if this post isn't meant to be here ♡ I am also based in Melbourne ♡
