Watched one Jeff Pelletier video. New life goal unlocked. Midlife crises are weird.

Ran a couple marathons when younger, but didn't train much. Being young and in shape is great.

Now at 40, I am looking at these physical frontiers with the realization I won't be able to push those boundaries forever, and we're guaranteed nothing anyway.

And while I'm in decent shape, I'm certainly not run 50 or 100 miles (on flat ground much less the mountains) in shape.

Looking at some research, it seems like at this stage the biggest hurdles are clear. Train up without injury. When younger, we can outrun bad diets and bad habits, but now I realize there are lifestyle changes that need to happen. Fast food for lunch often? Nope. Skipping breakfast? Nope. Staying up late going down those YouTube rabbit holes that led me here in the first place? Nope.

Who knows if my body or mind is even capable of running that distance.

But I'm here to find out.

Great to meet you.
