RedReader is Free open-source software and has apparently been granted an exemption from the madness due to its usefulness with screen readers for the blind. Available on Google Play and F-Droid, source code on GitHub.
I've been using it for years, and never had a need to try RIF, Apollo, or anything else.
We'll see if Reddit itself remains useful...

I've read about it and I'm very eager to try it out. Just need to actually bring myself to install it and uninstall RIF 😔 it would make it too real...
