i refuse to let this game die
the amount of potential Craftopia has is out of control. stylized graphics, deep gameplay, tons of side activities to keep yourself busy if you get tired of running through quests. maybe you wanna farm dungeons, or farm crops. grind your pickaxe at some rocks, or automate your quarry. on top of that, hundreds of players in a server???
i'm hosting a public map that i open up weekdays at 8 EST until about Midnight-1AM, if you're interested shoot me a message
i'm not going to plug my twitch chat, but i'll throw you the link there if you'd like to check it out before joining, or if you'd like to message me your steam account you'll be able to join whenever the server is opened up.
with the new content patch dropping later this month, and dedicated servers right around the corner, i'm doing my best to put together and maintain a community of players that can keep this game kicking for the foreseeable future.
there's no commitment, drop in, drop out, and stay as long as you'd like. i'd love to connect with people who share the same passion for this game.
thanks for reading guys

I don't think this game is at risk of dying, as it's only getting better on average. But it's cool to see your passion.
i hope i'm just being cynical, been seeing a lot of negative comments that don't even seem like they've given the game the time of day.
you're probably right, thanks :b sometimes i get a little overexcited
Some of those reviews are very recent. Keep in mind, it just went on sale and a bunch of new people picked it up. This was at the same time it's been the most buggy in a long time as a major update just dropped. So a lot of people got their first experience running a game that overheated their GPU, or broke early on. Which may lead to a lot of negative reviews right now. On average, the total reviews are quite good.
I think it's probably a good idea that the game keeps a low profile for now while they work out the new seamless version, and add back the content they removed (caves/ages). Then they can do another sale and marketing push when it's a good new player experience.
I personally don't mind jank games, if there's content and I can make my own fun. I just got the game 3 days ago, and I'm having a great time. It's like instead of giving us a tightly designed lego set, they instead dumped out the entire second hand lego bin on the floor for us to play with. AND.. I... LOVE IT!!!
the lego analogy was spot on, i'm the same way with my games. the sandbox feeling Craftopia brought us is nothing like i've ever gotten my hands on before. i guess really i'm feeling some psuedo-FOMO for everyone that isn't enjoying it.
you made a really good point, there is still a lot of polish the game needs, and maybe marketing too early could be more detrimental than helpful in the long run.
i appreciate the replies, it's good to see the other side of my perspective here
Should try Terraria and No Man's Sky, both derive an infinite amount of enjoyment from a certain kind of sandbox fun.
