It is Japanese knotweed
Thanks. I’ve added a second photo to another post. I wasn’t sure how to add to my original.
Check out the Worldwide Japanese Knotweed support group on Facebook. Learn about what this sci-fi tier plant is capable of and why it NEEDS to be controlled. Then show the neighbor
Whelp, I guess it's knotweed season. Strap in y'all!

It’s not weed..
Eastern redbud. You should have had beautiful flowers in early spring.
That’s maybe a relief. I was fearing Japanese Knotweed!
Can you add a close up pic' of the inner stems, just to make sure it isn't JK.
I'm not sure how to add another photo. I might have to start a new post
I hate to say what I think it is..
Another post added.

The green stems in a dense clump are a giveaway, redbud has black stems and they’re woody, spreading etc.
My fears are justified then. This is well over 2m in height and there are examples of others growing in the area
Redbud has a different distribution of veins and doesn’t have red petioles. Sorry 😞
It’s not not knotweed.
