Education Path For Automation

Hey everybody I was curious as to what a good roadmap or career path would be good for me. Mainly for one my college advisors are useless and two I am a little confused on what I’m doing. I am on track for my associates degree in computer science though it’s my first year. I would like to be in a 4 year degree program for something that would be good for Industrial Automation. Mainly because I live in an industrial heavy area with multiple nuclear plants and various large manufacturing facilities. Along with many companies in the business of designing such. Any help as to what degree I should finish and what experience to look for would be insightful. As well as telling me about all the things I’m doing wrong with going into the industry that I’m sure someone has an issue with. Thanks
