2v1 with seperate IDs in Seasons?

I just played a game in regular Seasons where the other team had two people controlling the players. Now I know you can add a guest and play 2v1 in seasons if the two players are playing from the same console, however in this case the two guys had seperate EA/Gamers tags showing for their players (when they received the ball). Doesn't that mean that they were playing on seperate consoles ? Does anyone know how they were doing that ? Bear in mind I am on PC so it was cross-play also.
