Is denying physical touch an ADHD thing?

Questions/Advice/Support

I just hated the fact that whenever I tell people that I have ADHD they tend to hug me or pat me on the back and I absolutely do not like it. Whenever I get patted on the back I get this awkward and uncomfortable feeling then flinched and say "No, I do not like that" at that moment I just felt a bit rude for denying them. I like hugs, I hug and handshake people but there is just a certain uncomfortable feeling of telling them what I have and offering me a hug or patting me on the back.

No it's not in my opinion. Liking touch is very individual. There could be many reasons as to why someone would not like to be touched.

I personally like hugs and especially head pats from my partner. Just when we sleep, I don't want to touch my partner since I can't concentrate on sleeping if I touch someone while trying to fall asleep.

I’ve read that it’s not uncommon for ADHD, kinda how it is for people with Autism. I’m similar and always get uncomfortable when a friend puts their hand on my shoulder or something but always thought it was cause my parents were never physically affectionate to me. But funny enough I love being in physical contact with a SO
