Negotiating New Ford Expedition Purchase - Boise, ID Area

US Sale

We are looking to get a new 2023/2024 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4. The wife and I really liked our rental we took on vacation the other week, and it's time we got a new car for our new little family. We live in the Boise, ID area. There are a couple dealers around here - Lithia, Kendall, and Corwin, that I know of. If we saw a well configured one on the lot, we could go with that, but we have no probs with ordering if it's a negligible savings difference.

I don't mind financing if it gets me a better deal. I have an 800 credit score. I would optimally like to finance half of it with a credit union with a lower rate, of course. Then again, I could take the Ford higher rate and pay it off within a year's time to minimize the amount of interest. At present, I see no incentives from Ford for the Expeditions. Is it even worth waiting for some upcoming holiday sale these days?

In researching the invoice pricing, it appears they're $2500 - 3000 over MSRP ~ ( https://www.iseecars.com/car/ford-expedition-price ). It's been about 10 years since I haggled with a dealer over a new vehicle. I imagine doing your research beforehand and submitting a number to them first is probably an ideal way to go. I would very much appreciate any help on negotiating tactics right now. Thanks in advance!

How many of them are sitting on dealer lots within 50 miles of your house?

I checked on one dealer's site and they had like 14 in stock.
