The Marauder (N7 Destroyer)
Introduction
So the only other Destroyer build at the moment has 6 ranks in the Hawk Missile Launcher (nice, but somewhat awkward to use imo) and 0 ranks in Multi-Frag Grenades (which are amazing). Also, I do not think it has been explicitly stated that ramp-up weapons such as the PPR, Typhoon, and Striker are amazing the the N7 Destroyer due to his high potential shielding and immunity to staggering the Devastator Mode. I say that it's a pretty good combo.
Power Evolutions
Passives- Weapon damage and shielding are the evolutions of choice. Since you will be firing out of cover for some time, both help out tremendously.
Devastator Mode- Everything was chosen to stay in the ramped-up state as long as possible. Accuracy shouldn't be an issue because all the ramp-up weapons are pretty accurate already and bigger magazines mean more time staying in the ramped-up state. Interestingly enough, the Shield Recharge evolution will make the shield recharge go down to 2.8 seconds, which is pretty close to the sheild-gate recharge of 3 seconds.
Multi-Frag Grenades- Breaking the 1500N threshold and having 5 grenades per volley is a great balance to both damage and radius. Use these in a panic situation because in Devastator Mode you can't dodge very well.
Weapons
Ramp-up Gun- Your primary should be the ramp-up gun to abuse Devastator Mode's stagger resistance and extra magazine size. The three main ones are the Typhoon, PPR, and Striker.
Typhoon- Innate cover penetration and a quick time to ramp-up is useful, along with tight accuracy. The gun can quickly be reload-cancelled for a fast reload, while the PPR has to wait for a recharge period. If you have a PPR, I would choose the PPR over the Typhoon.
PPR- Usually a better choice than the Typhoon if you want single target destroyer. Don't run completely dry and it is quite amazing. If you have a high level PPR, you may want to try using that only and use DM to reload cancel. Also, using Incendiary Ammo and a Piercing Mod on a PPR will make it into an industrial cutting laser, sawing bosses in half. The DoT effect does a huge amount of damage and should not be neglected.
Striker- My personal favorite as of now due to the huge staggering potential and ability to cover an area. I've argued for it before, but I wasn't enthusiastic about it then. Now I am enthusiastic about it and I highly recommend this gun on the Destroyer. The staggering potential will compound with the damage, making it increasingly effective against fast enemies. It will also break Phantom swords and it has a nice AoE effect as well. Tiny AoE, but nice when trying to hunt down that Hunter or Phantom in cloak.
Additionally, you may wish to wildly spray the Striker while close to an enemy as you cannot hurt yourself when using it. It's a great way to make sure you are hitting a mobile target without getting mad at them dodging all of your shots.
Secondary Weapons- Sometimes you won't be using just the ramp-up weapon. Just take another weapon that you feel comfortable with as a general purpose-ish weapon. Piranha, Raptor, Scorpion, and Crusader are all excellent options.
Conclusion
The N7 Destroyer was meant for weapons that have a ramp-up period. High shielding, larger mags, and a panic button all help ramp-up weapons deal their full potential. I highly recommend giving it a go and putting comments below. Especially the comment part.
