How bad would it be if I swap out my lip piercing for a ring after 3-4 weeks?

I had snake bites done just over a week ago and they're kinda bothering me because the little balls keep popping off. I want to eventually change them to rings cause I feel like they'd make my life a lot easier and I wanted rings from the beginning anyway. I know its usually recommended to wait a minimum of 6 weeks before changing it, but would it be too bad if I did it like 2 or 3 weeks early? 'Cause so far it seems to be healing quite nicely, there's barely any swelling now and not much discharge or pain, but I wanted to get some outside opinions on this before I do anything rash.
