Fatal Illusion Lyrics
Ok, so this has bugged me for awhile... The line in the song says, "It's a fatal Illusion to think that evil never dies."
That means that one would be deceiving themselves if they believed that evil doesn't die... Because evil does, in fact, die, if the lyric is to be taken within the context of bitter cynicism and bleak outlook, because, let's face it... Those are the lyrics Dave does best...
But to say that someone is kidding themselves when they think that evil never dies... Seems oppositionally optimistic in the face of the context of the rest of the lyrics of the song...
So... Finally the question I'm getting at...
Would the following line... Literally taking away a single letter from the lyric... Be more fitting to the context of the song?
"It's a fatal Illusion to think that evil EVER dies"
Your thoughts on this, please!
