How many hours do people actually work at their desk job?

I feel like I waste a lot of time at work. Our of 8 hrs, I am barely productive for 3 hrs. I feel I could do more but just feel so sleepy throughout the day, almost seems impossible to concentrate 7 hrs in a row.

Is it normal?
