Album rec request

Hey friends. Many years ago I spent hours every day listening to and playing jazz. I was particularly fond of drummers and bassists who melded as one, bound together in the pocket to produce the hardest swing imaginable. Kermit Ruffins and Tain Watts on Black Codes comes to mind. Do you all have any recommendations for listens from contemporary cats? I’m completely out-of-the-loop and looking for a smooth re-entry.
