2 phase retirement
Hello Guys,
I heard this phrase from my colleague and I found it fascinating.
I think as FIRE aspirants this applies to us.
This is how I plan my 2 phase retirement, I am currently 43years old NRI living in an APAC country on work visa, no residency. I am tracking to hit 9Cr by the end of this year. My job is going on well right now and my daughter is still in 6th grade. My plan is to try and continue working until I hit 50, by 2030 and then my daughter finishes 12th std, it is kind of perfect milestone.
2030(age 50) phase 1 retirement starts: In this phase, I plan to somehow move to Europe on a retirement visa/digital nomad visa/passive income visa/golden visa or whatever is available. My life goal before I pass away is to live in Europe for a few years and explore its beauty. I expect phase 1 to last 10-20 years.
Phase 2 retirement: This is when I get really old and I am not so mobile, will most likely need to move to some kind of retirement village or some community where we can get support. This is too far away to plan right now.
But I am really looking forward to the phase 1 retirement plan.
