What us my job title?

Stuck on a title for my promotion.

Job handles all marketing functions, but also is responsible for sales and manages all the sales processes. 2 brands under one umbrella. One is a start-up, and the other is a 7 figure scale up.

Currently directly manage 1 marketing employee and have authority to manage and direct salespeople (although I would say I manage them - we don't have a sales director or anything if that function just a "Head Profession eg. Head Doctor - if that was our industry)

I also manage all of the agencies we use for marketing and sales, but the 2 year plan is for me to grow the marketing and sales teams so it is all internal.

I am marketing trained in both undergraduate and post graduate and want to be on the journey to a CMO position later in my career so I need the right title to help me along the way.

What job title should this be?

I'm thinking

  • Head of Growth
  • Head of Marketing
  • Head of Marketing and Sales
  • Head of Growth (Marketing)
  • Head of Growth (Marketing & Sales)

I like the sound of head of Growth as I think it's covers both marketing and sales, but it is a legitimate title? Or just some buzzword for start-ups. I want something that actually carries wieght.

Or any suggestions? 😣
