Is the phrase "should have known better to not get on my bad side and make an enemy out of someone like me" toxic and narcissistic?

Someone i know said that and they said it's not something bad when i confronted them telling them it sounds toxic and narcissistic. They were talking about someone they hate while using that phrase. Am I just immature or is the phrase actually bad?
