Is the temperature of my cpu and gpu ok?

#QUESTIONS

I've had this pc since Christmas of '20. Its always loud even when I simply turn it on. I just turned my pc on and checked the temperature of the CPU and gpu. there are no applications open except NZXT cam, but the CPU temp is 162 degrees Fahrenheit? is that normal?

Most people use Celsius for monitoring temps in there pc. Pretty sure you can change it to Celsius in the CAM settings. Your CPU is around 72c and you GPU is about 41c. Both are perfectly normal temps although 72c is definitely high for idle temps but nothing to be too concerned about.

What are the temps when your under some sort of heavy load like gaming for example? If your CPU temps start getting above 90c then you will start to experience thermal throttling which affects performance. If it gets too high (usually about 100c or higher) the PC will auto shut down to avoid any serious damage to your components.

thanks for the info. When im gaming sometimes it shoots up to the 90 degree celsius range, but I’ve never seen my pc shut itself down to avoid damage like you mentioned. Maybe something to look out for tho

If you’re hitting 90c on your CPU when gaming then you might have an issue with your CPU cooling.

Can you provide some of your PC specs? Mainly looking to see what CPU, CPU cooler (Liquid AIO or Air Cooler), GPU, and case you have. If you can provide a pic of your PC too that would be great. That way I can see what fan setup you have as well.

I managed to find the order summary with the list of specs. Its a prebuilt that's listed as 'NZXT Streaming PC'. from 2020

Here's the list of specs, word for word, from the email.

  • NZXT - H510 (Black)
  • NZXT - Kraken M22
  • Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI
  • GeForce RTX 3070
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3200x 8-core 3.6GHz\650W Bronze PSU
  • Team T-Force Vulcan Z 3200MHz 3200 MHZ (max speed) 16GB (2 x 8GB)
  • M.2 SSD (1.0 TB)
  • PREBUILD MODE!
  • Windows 10 Home

I wasn't able to upload I pic of my own pc, but here's a picture from NZXT's website, that's exactly what my pc looks like.

I was worried you might have their Kraken M22 AIO. I had one in my first build and it died after about 1.5yrs. I experienced the exact same issues your having. My idle CPU temps were in the 75-85c range and spiked up to 90c+ by just opening a browser window. NZXT have since discontinued the M22 because it was notoriously bad. You can even search “M22” in this sub and you’ll see what I mean.

I would suggest opening a support ticket on NZXT’s site to see if you can still RMA the M22. If it’s still under warranty then they will probably send you their newer 120mm AIO version called the Kraken 120.

No, its not. Evidently bug. Booth temperature (in celsius) will lead to shut off by temperature protection (CPU_Hot/GPU overheat signal).
