Switched this off midway through episode 4
We tried, we really did try, to suspend belief and enjoy the show, but it was so relentlessly stupid and you could drive a bus through the plot holes.
!From the "digging deep in the pockets" to buy the house, talking like they're broke... apart from the spare money they have for country club memberships, ripping out a perfectly good kitchen and replacing marble with butchers block, installing home security and paying for two rooms in a motel for several weeks. !<
!Nora remaining friends with (and taking ridiculous advice from!) Karen after the whole "We have two offers on the table so you have to go way over the asking price" then "There was one other offer from an LLC but you offered more" - I'd never speak to that person again if they flat out admitted that they'd ripped me off like that, but there's Nora listening to her when she says to sell it for 500K less than they spent.!<
!Theodora saying that Dakota is responsible based on a game nickname after saying that John Graff got the same identical letters back in '95 years before Dakota was born - oh, but Andrew Pierce was making it all up and didn't get any letters, he's just cray-cray. And both Theodora and Dean ignoring that the creepy shit started before Dakota was contacted and hired (and might not have been hired at all had Dean been put off by his youth and inexperience shopped around a little more). Also, Dakota was at the motel when some of the shit happened in the house.!<
!"All the previous owners let my adult son play in the dumbwaiter we're so desperately concerned about preserving" and Dean doesn't even ask Andrew Pierce if that's true, or question why Pearl would want a grown adult to fuck about in it if she was so concerned about keeping it intact.!<
!The house is covered in cameras, which are forgotten when it comes to the fake building inspector and the letters being left in the mailbox. Also, Dakota is installing cameras on the front of the house before the wife and kids leave for the motel and still installing stuff weeks later. Does he do one a week or something?!<
I am actually enraged at how nonsensical this show is and looking over the thread titles and other posts, it seems most other people are, too. Please Netflix, no more of this crap. Pay your goddamn writers fairly and get back to making quality products.

This all of this! I wanted to love this show so bad with how good the casting looked. I couldn’t even muster the energy to break it down like you did. I can’t believe I wasted time finishing it
Oh, there were so many more!
And on and on. We were howling out the plot holes and inconsistencies and irrational behaviours by the time we quit. I've disliked shows before and just turned them off but this is the first one I've watched that actually enraged me enough to post about it!
