This would depend on your opponent. I’m usually very picky in terms of WYSIWYG but here it is not too much confusing.

Still the weapons are not accurate, it is still the same kind of equipment. The most confusing part would be that he can shoot at more than 12” as both profile are equiped with a long range bolter. You can play fair and decide to only use the pistol ;-).

The second confusion can come from the back pack. But If I’m not mistaken this would only allows him to deep strike so no prob for a Lieutenant. If you really want to play it as captain, you can still update the backpack or live with it as it is not that much impacting the game after deployment.

In short, I personally think that it can be confusing but not something unmanageable and if your opponent is picky, just suggest to not use the long range bolter.

That’s a lot of good insight. I think I’ll have to swap the pistol, nix the claw for sure, making it an okay Lt. Do you think it would be better for a reiver Lt?

Claw (instead of knives) and backpack flaps seems much more reiver to me!

The pistol is more accurate but why would you play a Reiver Lt in a deathwatch? ☠️Maybe I don’t see it but I’m not sold.

Don’t you have a lone Bolter to glue somewhere on his equipment if you want to be more WYSIWYG? Ask other players, especially those you are usually playing with. I know I can be extreme on that topic.

Phobos Lt is much more interesting for sure.

I can probably snatch and oculus carbine and slap it on his back. I’ll ask at the tournament but I won’t run him

I think he could play his model however he likes as long as he knows how it is equipped when the opponent inquires.

Doing a kitbash/conversion of this model right now to make a Phobos Chapter Master. Here's my plan;

Replace the arms with a Reiver pair of arms holding a bolt carbine and an extended barrel from an eliminator bolt pistol.

Trim the extra handle from that carbine to add to the empty hole in the model's holster.

Tuck a Reiver combat blade on his back.

Swap out the head for the one from Lieutenant Amulius.

Use the blank pauldron from Chapter Master Azrael on the right and a blank pauldron on the left.

Replace the jump pack with a spare back pack from the eliminators kit and add a rolled up camo cloak from the scout squad kit.

This is a very well thought out plan!

Is the shoulder pad 3d printed? That shade of grey seems so much lighter.

Yes it is.

Before making big changes to this model be aware that it is quite likely that jump infantry will be with the next space marine release wave, with probably a jump character too. I would leave this model as is for now and maybe kitbash a captain/character out of something else

“This is a Phobos Captain.” There. You’re done.

For casual games I would, but I don’t wanna cause grief at an event

Where did you get those sholder pads from.

I converted a Shrike for my BT. Honestly imo it needs more parts swapped to be a viable Phobos LT. I'll attach a link with what I did to mine.

Used left over arms from the Reivers and a Sword Brother head for mine since I play BT converted Phobos Lt

As a strictly casual player, stick him on the correct size base, and he can even be a really cool veteran
