Is DD about to claim bankruptcy?

Everything I've been seeing lately points to DD going under. Support is dogshit, it seems inhuman and doesn't respond coherently. or give refunds appropriately. Theyre stacking orders desperately; not informing customers of wait times, while cutting basepay for dashers. Hiring anyone that applies, and they tolerate begging/pestering/harassment of customers. Id bet my last 10 dollars this company is about to flounder and die. Theyre losing millions a year, its only a matter of time.

They’re not losing millions a year I forgot how they do it but it was explains to me on here before, I highly doubt they’re going under, they’ve always mostly hired anyone that applies you only need a heartbeat and insurance to dash. Support has been shit for a while they outsource it to cut costs, almost every company does that, I call wingstop down the street to place an order and I get an Indian woman answering the phone in a call center, same thing for bestbuy. They’ve always stacked a lot of orders as well, big or fair tippers get piggybacked off of by non tippers. I’m no financial advisor but I doubt they’re going bankrupt any time soon, the owners are buying multi million dollar homes and playing poker with 6 figure buy ins.

They will be around for quite some time, they are just coming down from a massive bump from covid and into a recession. You can lose millions a year if you make billions :)

Saying that drivers are the biggest cost and liability to business so I would not be surprised if they outsource driving to Uber or back to restaurants. There was a post here a bit about about DD offering restaurants a 5-8% service fee instead of 30-40% if the restaurant delivers food themselves, so it seems they are getting ready to purge a number of drivers one way or another.

Nah restaurants don't want that liability. Even with the reduced fees. They already aren't paying any fees due to them setting the prices to offset the fees. It costs a lot to have inhouse delivery. Right now they are getting it basically for free, and customers are still using the service.

They have billions of dollars in cash and they’re cash flow positive, so no, they are not even remotely close to bankruptcy. The business is self sustaining, so unless something drastically changes about the economy as a whole (eg a depression) they ain’t going anywhere for a longgggg time

I don't think they are losing money so much as they are spending money.

Pay is still being reduced frequently and eventually the entire dasher supply will be people short on a bill needing to trade a little gas and time for $10. It's tough to go bankrupt while utilizing free labor.

Do to halving Driver Pay, Doordash is able to stay in business and keep paying Tony millions of dollars. Keep driving to support Tony.

They don't know how to give refunds because 90% of the customers can't be honest and want a free meal and then when they actually need a refund they can't get it because they've abused it.

I do love how everyone mentions dashers pestering customers but never mentions the nasty ass customers expecting something for free pestering tf out of drivers.

You know how many times in 33k deliveries I've had customers beg me for free shit? Hey, grab me a pop, I'll pay ya when you get here. I forgot to add 10 cups of ranch. Can you grab those for me, I'll pay ya when you get here? Can you stop and get me beer or cigarettes? I'll pay when you get here. Guess who doesn't answer the door? Guess who ain't getting free shit?

There are 50-60 million customers with roughly 2-3 million drivers.

Drivers aren't the problem here. It's shitty customers taking advantage of a service they can't afford!!!
