Nissan misfires

I have a 2016 Nissan Sentra that drives but misfires upon accelerating and pretty much while driving. Haven’t been able to drive it cause it misfires bad, RPMs jump like crazy. Changed the Spark plugs and checked oil but still same issue. Took it to a local shop and couldn’t tell me much other than they recommend spending the money and trying to replace the transmission. From what I’ve been told it can’t be the transmission since shifting gears are working properly. Looking for any suggestions..

If the transmission is slipping then the rpms will jump around. It has a very unreliable cvt transmission. If there aren’t any misfire codes then it probably isnt misfiring.

Thank you just looked up that Nissan Sentra cvt transmission. If that’s the case my only option is replacement.

If you can afford it, get rid of your Nissan and remember this experience any time you ever think about buying another Nissan. I also agree that it's probably your CVT. Nissan makes literally the worst transmissions, maybe ever. There is a reason Nissan and Dodge are some of the few manufacturers that finance people with low credit. It's their literal only selling point.
