I [33F] love my bf [33m] however I feel more like a roommate
We've been together for only a year and some change but we've been through enough to make it feel longer. While I know every couple has their issues sometimes I feel like our issues aren't normal relationship issues. We both have ex's and with ex's comes insecurities, this I know. However, I feel like due to past issues, I feel like my bf sometimes treats me as more of a roommate than a girlfriend. Case in point, when we began having issues, his first response was to draft up a written agreement. I asked him would it be something similar to a prenup? He said no. It was more like a roommate agreement and I'm not just talking about the one from the Big Bang Theory. According to him when he had actual other male roommates, they drafted some sort of agreement to make sure they could all get along. I told him it sounds so impersonal and that I was more than just a roommate, I was his gf. However, he doesn't think there's a difference. Keep in mind, I live in his house with my 3 kids, all under the age of 12. We've both also already have been married and divorced. He thinks I'm not giving this idea enough thought. I think he's trying to compare our problems and our situation with that of his previous roommates and you can't, at least not to me. Also, we just had another blowout last night over specific issues and he STILL wants to do some sort of roommate agreement but now he wants to add a financial segment to where instead of me paying whatever amount I can pay each week, he wants me to pay a specific amount instead and that no matter what I have to come up with that amount regardless how much money I make each week. If I wanted to do that, I might as well get my own place with a real roommate. I go to school full time and am working on getting a part-time job too. So am I being treated like a gf or a roommate?
