What do you wish you had known when you replaced your roof?

I will be replacing my 30-year-old roof in August. As a first time home owner, I would love to know some watch outs and things I should be aware of before going in. My roofer is reputable so not worried about that. Just don’t want to go in as a total novice 😅.
