Adopted this sweet baby this week. Shelter listed her as a shepherd mix but definitely has some beagle/hound. What do you think?

I got my shelter dog DNA tested. He’s 45% beagle, 41% Australian shepherd, and 15% mix of 9 other dogs. The shelter said he was a collie mix. Your pup looks so much like my Leo. He has the same eyes, ears, and body shape. Leo is 40 pounds. It appears that your pup is about the same weight. Does your pup bark a lot and howl for attention? That’s a beagle trait. Leo is very gentle and affectionate towards people. He often herds our other dog away from us because he’s not into sharing his people. Otherwise, he gets along well with his doggie roommate. I agree that your dog looks like a beagle and shepherd mix. I recommend that you get him DNA tested. It’s definitely worth it. Look up traits of these 2 breeds and see if your dog behaves in a similar way. Best of luck! You have a beautiful new best friend!
