Good brands for flexible and upgradable lasers in the UK?

Hi everyone!

Me and my partner are looking into getting a laser cutter for our home business. We are happy to justify up to £3500 on the initial purchase at a push, but are trying to work out what machine to get.

Space isn't a concern as we have a large garage to use the machine in.

We're hoping to find something which is flexible and can be upgraded over time if needed, such as upgrading the laser tube, adding a rotary attachment, and ideally something with a reasonably big print bed so we can cut larger signs for example.

As long as software and drivers are available, things like machine age and learning curves aren't an issue. I'm very hands on with our machines and honestly love doing the maintenance work anyway (though the less the better of course!). Ideally i want to get something used (which is what i did for our vinyl plotter - We bought a water damaged one and repaired it).

We plan to make mostly acrylic items such as name badges or other flat assembleys which we can then engrave or dye sublimate, but would love the ability to do other things such as glass engraving (rotary) or metal engraving if possible in the future so we can adapt and change easily.

Currently i'm looking into possibly a used HPC Laserscript machine (such as an LS6090) but I've seen in the forum those are just rebranded Chinese machines? Are they still alright for the money? Are parts available still if needed?
