Hamilton Boys. You might not stink as much as Rotorua, but 17 rule breaches?
The school should have been banned from competing for two years - They'd soon think twice about cheating again (and it is cheating)...
The trouble is the school is known to be a sporting school and they focus on it...
Who wants to bet their promotional material (and the material of every other school that has a rowing team - they'll all cheat) says something like "honesty" "integrity" "sportsmanship" and "building future leaders" (especially the private ones).
'Raft' of breaches. Very good.
Ahh the australian version of sorry... "sorry we got caught".
It's been an open secret for years that HBHS were cheating. The sanctions amount to not much more than a slap on the wrist though. Despite what the head master says, it appears that it's simply been a deliberate and systematic approach to breaching the rules over a number of years, not a failure of systems or the actions of a rogue individual in the programme (who is still involved by all accounts)
Ahh yes, the high stakes world of secondary school rowing…
