Home alternatives for deodorizer, etc?
I'm having hella issues with my insurance right now. They fucked up my account and aren't sending me deodorizer atm. Has anyone found alternatives that are easier to come by?
I know mint tic tacs are popular as a deodorizer replacement, and I've seen people mention things like oils and mouthwash, but there's such a wide variety of ingredients that can go into those things that you could easily wind up with a bad outcome.
It would have to be something that can safely come into contact with your stoma and something that wouldn't compromise your bag.
I know Flonase has been popular amongst ostomates for healing raw skin around the stoma, but it also contains cancer causing ingredients, so that's something to take into account while looking for a deodorizer-alternative equivalent.
I'd also like to find an alternative to gelling packets since that's another thing my insurance is being an idiot about. Yes, I know there's food and medications for thickening output, but dropping something small into your bag is so much more ideal.
Since American healthcare is such a fuck in general, it would be awesome to find a variety of options that could help us rely less on it.
