Can Voracidous' Lightning Attacks Be Avoided With Out-of-Bounds Strategy?

So I'm trying to solo Voracidous using the out of bounds strategy. The problem is that, even though he shouldn't be able to attack me, vorac keeps shooting these lightning attacks at me through the floor, one shotting me instantly. I've tried using the transformer as it should be resistant to shock attacks but that doesn't work as the lightning still kills me in one shot. I've tried staying away from vorac but his attack seems to home in on me from all the way across the arena, one shotting me instantly.

Is there a counter to this? I've honestly never even seen or heard from anyone having this problem and the out of bounds strategy has always seemed as the reliable way to solo vorac. Is there something I'm missing?
