New Nootropics Depot Mycelium Product & Testing Results - Extracted vs Non-extracted?
Looks like the new Nootropics Depot Mycelium product has landed. Interestingly, it is not extracted, however it has been standardized to Erinacene-A, which is one of the most important compounds in Lion's Mane, and is found in the mycelium.
ND has also released testing data for other Lion Mane Products on the market. All of the products they tested have negligible or zero levels of Erinacene-A. In fact, Oriveda's alcohol extract was tested and found to have zero. I am assuming the product second from the bottom named "O2" is oriveda's mycelium extract: https://imgur.com/a/u6drA6A
I understand that there is obvious potential for bias, since it is in-house testing from ND, however I do trust the company. It's concerning that Oriveda's product has no Erinacine-A content. I would be very curious if anyone could test Vibe's alcohol extracted mycelium product.
What do you think about the fact that ND's mycelium product is not extracted? I have only found one study where non-extracted liquid culture mycelium was investigated: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1756464622002900
That study used 2g per day however, which would be prohibitively expensive at the prices ND is offering its product. Anyone else aware of studies that used non-extracted mycelium?
