Baldur's Gate 3, except I've never played anything similar.

I've been seeing a lot of people hype up this game, and I've been doing some spoiler-free research to see if it's something I'd enjoy, but I would like y'all's opinion on this.

I've never played D&D (always wanted to), and I have never played a turn-based game. I am very attracted to the story, concept, scale of this one, so I'm not worried I wouldn't enjoy that part.

From my research it seems Baldur's Gate would be too difficult for me, not a good introduction to the genre, but I've also seen that there's accessibility settings where I could potentially learn on easy mode and then scale up the difficulty.

What do you think? Would this be a good game for me, or should I start with something smaller/easier/different?
