A mod for creating 4 unique companions in single player?

Mods / Modding

I'm not sure if there is yet, but it would be cool to have a mod that worked like multiplayer with 4 different characters you create, but instead of being multiplayer they can all be controlled in single player. Does that even make sense? That way you could build out a team with whatever classes you want without needing other players

Ooo I’m very new to CRPG’s but I’ll have to check that out!

I mean, not really. Solasta only has the 4 characters you start with, and they have fixed backstories (which only determinate their sidequest). So yeah you had to create them from the beginning, but there are no companions in Solasta, and there's zero roleplay.

Lol there is lots of roleplay, it's literally dnd and you create the characters and choose how they interact with the story. It's just not fully voiced with the bioware style dialogue tree, but that has no bearing on roleplaying. By any definition it's a roleplaying game, idk what bullshit you're on to think otherwise.

If all you want is to make whatever classes you want you can just respecc you companions

He can also just get 4 hirelings, right?

Can’t customize their appearance, etc.

I guess so but it would be cool to actually make the characters in the customizer so I could give them all their own stories

Just so you know, you can't really give them their own stories.

You don't need mods for that, just closr Steam/GOG and launche the game's exe from the directory. By doing this you can create as many instances you want, so create the first one, start the game and from multiplayer settings select the option for Direct Connect, copy the invite code frok there. Launch bg3.exe again, go to multiplayer > direct connect > paste the previous invite code.

Omce you create the second character and joined the game you can close this instance and start over, once you leave the second character will become an "npc".

Remember you can not remove these characters from your party, personally I find 2 custom character and 2 companions to be the sweet spot.

Once you're done creating the characters just save the game and you can go back to play it "normally" from Steam.

Oh no way I'll have to give this a try, I had no idea the characters become NPC's. Thanks for the tip!!
