What do you think about this revamped watching order?

General Discussion

Basically I've not been paying any real attention to Star Wars for a couple of years. But I just saw Andor and absolutely adored it. So I'm looking to get back into it with my girlfriend and I was looking around for a fun watching order that has a modicum of narrative momentum. I came up with this. It's intended to build up the world created in the OG films and really focus on 1) the might of the Empire and 2) building up Darth Vader. I like starting with Solo because it's a simple but fun adventure that stands on its own and establishes the Empire as an imposing long-term adversary.

  • Solo
  • Andor
  • Rogue One
  • A New Hope
  • The Empire Strikes Back
  • Revenge of the Sith
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Return of the Jedi

Then you go back in time to create some context around the Clone Wars and introduce narrative elements that are being focused on in the stuff that's coming out today. I like that skipping Revenge of the Sith here gives the Clone Wars some more authority. I don't care about the Bad Batch show, I think.

  • The Phantom Menace
  • Attack of the Clones
  • The Clone Wars (some of it)
  • Rebels
  • The Mandalorian 1 and 2
  • The Book of Boba Fett
  • The Mandalorian 3
  • Ahsoka

And then the last couple of films, obviously.

  • The Force Awakens
  • The Last Jedi
  • The Rise of Skywalker

I can't help but feel a new hope does that much better. Like any viewing order that isn't the main 9 films on either release of chronological order, this just feels like it's a pointless gimmick.
