28” Espresso aligns

Just received my 28” espresso aligns and was disappointed that they’re slick and not buttery soft. Do they get softer with wash or will they stay slick?

Anyone know what other colors are buttery soft like old aligns? I only know the dark forest color is soft. Thanks!
