Good university laptop

I currently have a 15 inch Lenovo Legion 15IMH05. I got a solid gaming laptop cause at school for my Digital technologies subject I do a lot of heavy duty work like game development on Unity and Photoshop etc. where I need a powerful device. However the battery life only lasts about 3 hours and the device is usually always plugged in at my desk. Next year I'm going to uni and will need a device which is reasonably powerful (I'm looking to study engineering) but also has a decent battery life. I been using windows devices my whole life and am more familiar with them, however I wouldn't oppose a macbook either as I am an avid iphone user. What would be some good laptops that I could purchase for around $2500. TIA
