Monk - in other scripts … to first night?
Monk by default doesn’t wake first night, this makes perfect sense in trouble brewing where the demon doesn’t do anything first night.
However with the clarification of monk protects from poisoning/vortox misinformation/etc, does it make sense for other custom scripts ?
A monk protecting a “starts knowing” character on the first night of a Vortox game may end up in some interesting games…
Just a thought…

It makes sense, but rules as written the Monk doesn’t wake on the first night. The TPI probably won’t change it either because they want to keep roles and official scripts as simple as possible.
However, a jinx Monk/Pukka (and maybe also Monk/Vortox and Monk/No Dashii) can be done without making roles and official scripts less simple...
Ok. Now your monk knows what demon is in play.
Monk can still protect from Pukka death.
jinxes dont have to affect in-play roles. they are active just when two roles are on a script together.
It probably is needlessly complicated though.
well... you're right
at least for first night monk's night order it will be complicated
Clearly the jinx would be "If the Pukka is on the script, the Monk wakes the first night.". This also could apply to the Vortox.
I do not think this is necessary, though. I'd just leave it as is.
Monk does NOT need to be buffed against Pukka it already is a massively hard problem for Pukkas to deal with.
I just said that, if you think it is balanced, it is easy to make. If you think it is unbalanced, you probably should say it as a comment to the main u/Azrael's post
Those jinxes would let the monk know one of those demons was definitely in play at the start, unless it happens as long as they're on the script, but regardless of if they're in play or not
Nope. This kind of jinx (like Heretic/Baron for example) is active as soon as the two characters are on the script, whatever they are in game.
